Thank you!!!

I made this card for my oldest daughter to give to her Aunt & Uncle who helped her out with dance. I have to tell you I had a hard time letting go of this one. I just love how it came out with the colors and all!  The mermaid is a stamp from The Greeting Farm. I just love their stamps! I'm also addicted to anything chevron so I was super excited to find chevron dies at Papertrey Ink! I tried my new Spectrum Noir markers for the first time on her and I'm sold. I love Copics but these are fabulous too for 1/2 the price.  Stay tuned for more crafty creations!

Thankful Thursday

Yes I woke up feeling this way this morning. I'm sick, my hair is just a hot mess, and I pretty much have the leave me alone attitude right now, BUT I am thankful! I'm thankful that I woke up and get to spend another glorious day here!

One of my favorite quotes: "Every day may not be good, but there is something good in everyday ….."

So your assignment for today make something good out of something bad!

Blowing the Budget

We are trying something new this year and it's called budgeting. Yes, I am 33 years old and have never really budgeted, which in turn gives you lots of credit card bills and thinking you have an endless supply of money, when in all reality you don't.  So yes I am an accountant by day with other people's money and really stupid with my money by night!

We (ok I) have been keeping track of all expenses since the beginning of the year. My biggest budget blower - the entertainment budget. Yeah we like to party! Not really party, but have fun! I have been trying to get creative now with things to do at home with the girls instead of thinking I need to take them to Build a Bear or out to dinner. This is one of our latest parties.
We had a Mardi Gras themed dinner and the girls thought I was the awesomest mother in the world. So glad that $5 in decorations from the Dollar Tree and a raging batch of Jambalaya with King Cake to top the night off gave me that title!  For that $5 I have enough to have 3 more of these themed dinners!

I love Dollar Tree for everything lately, home decor, decorations, crafty items. You just need to think outside the box on what you can do with things from there! Pinterest is great for ideas! I will be posting all of my Pinterest hits and misses with you as I try them!  If you would like to follow me here is my page.RockstarJen Pinterest Boards

Here We Go!

Welcome! I have decided to take this show on the road.  The show - my crazy family and our antics.  We consist of: Jen (me) I am 33 yrs old, married to the love of my life who I met in High School. I love to read, craft, garden, and just have a good time.  Then there is my husband Trav, short bio on him he loves any TV show with the word Swamp in it. Yep I got me a Redneck! My oldest daughter is Miss Lexi, she is 8 going on 16 and keeps me on my toes. She is a dancer and all the drama that a dancer entails! Complete girl!  Then there is Aubs, she is 6, she is her father's child if you couldn't tell by the camo Mardi Gras mask she choose on our adventure to New Orleans in the above photo.

I can't wait to share our life with you, trust me it's TV show worthy!
